Five Guys Burgers & Fries App Reviews

Hands down, the best best best restaurant app yet written. If they all did it this well, I might never stand in a fast food line again! Outstanding! Thanks for doing *another* thing better than everyone else, Five Guys!

Apparently one cannot pay using the app. i didnt find any way to enter a credit card or gift card. useless. The web-based order system has also been impacted the by some new service named olo.com or ololite.

The app is ok as far as seeing the menu so you can go right in and know what you want. Having the option to pay with PayPal as will as Google wallet would make it better.

I have an iPhone 6 and this app looks like its optimized for the iPhone 4.

For some bizarre reason, “Favorites” are 1) specific to one location and 2) grouped by order that is then not editable. Thus, If I have my favorite burger and my wife has hers, we have to create separate for EVERY FIVE GUYS IN THE WORLD if we want to order at locations while, say traveling. It also means I can’t combine mine and hers then add or change something depending on circumstances. Not all ordering options are included, either. For example, there doesn’t seem to be any way to specify that fries be “extra-dark” to avoid the usual 5G rawness.

The stars are for the burgers, not the app. They say they wont start your fries until you get there. If you order a burger for more than 15 minutes ahead, they wont start cooking until you get there. All reasonable to assure freshness, but make the app pointless. No PayPal, so both pointless and inconvenient.

I love that I can place my order ahead of time and just pick it up with this app. The one HUGE problem is that you can not use your gift cards with the app. I would give it 5 stars if it wasnt for this...its such a fast and easy way to order!

The app stinks. It is a VERY poorly displayed menu system that seems to have most of the store menu options included but in a jumble, incomplete way. For instance, to the new customer what the heck is "all the way" (the store menu explains....), and why not group common ingredients like "onions, and then grilled onions..." Much more than that the app fails to move to the " pay" page on order...

I love Five Guys, so by association I love the app. Just wish you could do more with the app, such as place an order to pay with cash at the store. Like the Dominos app, its a small but very important feature.

Whats the point of the app? App is basic as basic gets. No pics, no calorie or carb information. And they track my location all the time. Deleting this app now.

Its easily a 3-star app, but I have a general rule that if an app only gives me the choice of Always or Never for gps usage, it gets 1-star, no exceptions. So, fix that and maybe offer PayPal payments and you move up the star ladder.

App requires either bank information or credit card and does not accept use of 5 Guys own card. 5 Guys should upgrade or discontinue. I have chosen to abort the app and their online ordering both are not user friendly.

First time using this app and it worked exactly how I hoped it would. Online ordering was pretty easy, only have to provide CC number, cvv, and exp date and youre done!

I love five guys burgers, so this review is STRICTLY about the app. I downloaded the app to give it a try and its super easy to navigate ate through, but theres no option for adding less or extra toppings...like Im sure extra pickles is a common request. Since I like my burger with exta pickles and light onion, I had to delete the app and just go back to the way I was originally going to order...online. I didnt get beyond that function before deleting, so Im not sure how the rest of the app functions.

Love the ability to order my burger before I get to the restaurant, but I would love to be able to use Apple Pay during checkout to make it an even better experience!

Did the update thinking it would fix the issue but it doesnt. :( cant add a new credit card from the app.

I like my burgers with 2-4 extra patties depending on how hungry I am. This app only allows one extra patty. Im giving it one star for one patty.

Five Guys didnt really think this one through. I ordered online and went to the store at the time indicated on the email acknowledgement. There is no one at the pickup counter to help you. You have to get the attention of the cashier and tell him you placed an online order. People in line are glaring! Hell ask you to shout your last name from the pickup counter. He then actually enters your order for fries (your burgers are already done and waiting). No time saved at all. Lots of hassle and angry people in line. This is an app for the sake of having an app. If your business model is fresh cooked food then putting that order under a heat lamp while you wait for the customer to show up is absurd. So an app just doesnt work for Five Guys even though they are trying to be friendly to the younger smartphone set which is their demographic weakness.

Since I installed this app, have had no major issues. Favorites works good. Use to have more Favs, but deleted most because people would change orders. Now just have fav for wife & I and if fam joins us, just add their order to ours & it works out better. Havent added any favs recently, but recall having a problem doing that a while back. But really not a problem with us for reasons already stated. Service always been excellent with orders being correct 99.5% over the years. We dont get fries, just walk in, tell person at counter web order, they give us our bag and away we go. Pretty convenient.

Not much benefit to this app. Ordering takes forever and you still have to wait for your not as fresh food.
